Facilities in the Lecture Rooms.

Circular Letter #18

Subject: ICM2002-CL18: Facilities in the Lecture Rooms.
Date: July 2, 2002

Dear Colleague:

This message gives the information about the facilities in the lecture rooms of the ICM2002.

FOR PLENARY AND INVITED SPEAKERS:

The Plenary lectures and the 45-minute Lectures will be given in several Lecture Theatres in the Beijing International Convention Center. These Lecture Theaters are very large rooms with seating capacities from several hundred up to 25 hundred persons. Each lecture hall will be provided with two overhead projectors and one multi-media projector (so that the speakers can show their transparencies and/or Power Point from their laptops for their presentation of lectures), screens and microphones. There will be NO blackboards in the lecture halls.

If any plenary or invited speaker needs other audio-visual equipment for his/her talk, such as slide or videotape projectors, please contact the secretariat office
(icmsec@beijing.icm2002.org.cn).
At all times a member of the ICM2002 staff will be available in the lecture halls to help the speaker in the operation of the audio-visual equipment. We regret that simultaneous translation of lectures cannot be provided by ICM2002.

FOR SHORT COMMUNICATION SPEAKERS

The short communications will be given in various rooms at the Beijing International Convention Center with seating capacities from 50 to 100 persons. Each short communication room will be provided with one overhead projector. There will be NO blackboard. No microphones, nor audio-visual equipment will be provided in these rooms.

We hope that this message will be helpful for speakers to prepare
their talks accordingly.

Yours sincerely,

Ma, Zhiming
Chairman, Organizing Committee of ICM2002
